You can add photos to your Monthbook, Monthly Mini, or Baby's First Year books from your Camera Roll, Google Photos, or GroupChat. Each book needs at least 30 pages and can hold up to 60.

How do I add photos on iOS?
Tap the month you want to add photos to
If the book is empty, your Camera Roll opens automatically
Tap the photos you want and tap Continue with X photos
Keep the Chatbooks app open while your photos sync
To add more photos, tap the + in the bottom right corner
How do I add photos on Android?
Tap the month you want to add photos to
Tap the blue + in the bottom right corner
Tap Add Photos and choose your photo source
Tap the photos you want and tap Continue with X photos
Keep the Chatbooks app open while your photos sync
To add more photos, tap the blue + again
How do I use a different photo source?
iOS: Tap the Camera Roll icon at the top of the photo picker, then choose Google Photos or GroupChat
Android: Choose your photo source after tapping Add Photos
Can I add photos from a different month?
Yes. The photo picker opens to the month of the book you're working on. For example, your March 2026 book shows your March 2026 photos. To see other photos:
iOS: Tap the date button to change the date range, or tap the X on the filtered date to clear it
Android: Tap Filter to change or remove the date range
What other ways can I add photos?
Smart Select: Let Smart Select pick your best photos for the month. In the photo picker, tap Smart Select in the top right corner, then review and edit the photos it chose. Learn more in What is Smart Select?
Add From Another Phone: Grab photos straight off a partner's or family member's phone. Tap the +, tap Add From Another Phone, and scan the QR code with the other phone. Learn more in How Can I Add Photos From Another Phone?
What if my photos aren't showing up?
Update the Chatbooks app to the latest version
Log out and back into your account
Clear the app cache if photos don't appear in the photo picker
Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if your connection is unstable
