Updated over a week ago

When creating a Classic book in the Chatbooks iOS app, you can easily filter and choose your photos. Simply select Google Photos as your photo source when building your book, then use its search feature to quickly find specific albums or faces—making it easy to add the right images to your Chatbook.

Watch this how-to video for step-by-step guidance, and check out the instructions below for more detailed help.

Once you're in the draft of your Classic book, you'll automatically be taken to your Camera Roll to select photos. To choose a different photo source, simply tap on "Camera Roll."

Select "Google Photos."

If you're not already logged in, sign in to your Google Photos account. Once logged in, you'll automatically see all the photos in your account. To find a specific album you've created, use the Search feature.

Type the name of the specific album into the search field, then tap "Return" on your keyboard to search.

All photos from that album will now appear. Tap on each photo you want to include in your Classic Chatbook, then tap "Done" when you're finished.

You also need to tap "Close" to return to your Chatbook draft.

Your photos are now in your Chatbook Draft.

Google Photos' search feature also includes a Faces option. If you've labeled faces in your Google Photos account, you can type a person's name into the search field, and all photos associated with that face will appear.

Tap on each photo you’d like to add to your Chatbook, then tap "Done."
After that, be sure to tap "Close" to exit Google Photos and return to your Chatbooks draft.
