You can update your payment method in your subscription settings or your account settings, in the Chatbooks app or on Chatbooks.com.
Good to know:
On iOS and the web, your account settings show which payment method each subscription uses, so you can change it per subscription.
On Android, adding a card in your account settings also changes your subscription's payment method.
How do I update my payment method in the app? (iOS)
From your account settings:
Tap the 3-bar menu, then tap "My account."
Tap "Payment."
Your payment methods appear at the top, with the subscriptions that use each one listed underneath.
Tap "Change" next to a subscription to pick a different payment method, or add a new card from this screen.
From your subscription:
Open your active subscription and tap the Settings (gear icon) in the upper right corner.
Tap "Payment."
Tap "Add a card" and enter your new payment details, or tap an existing payment method to update it.
Tap "Done."

Tap "Payment."
Tap "+ Add card."
Enter your card information and tap "Add a payment method."
From your account settings:
Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner.
Tap "Payment."
Tap "Add a card," enter your card information, and tap "Add a payment method."
How do I update my payment method on the web?
From your account settings:
Log in to Chatbooks.com.
Click "Account" at the top of the page, then "Account profile."
Click "Payment."
Click the three dots to edit a payment method, or click "Change" next to a subscription to switch it to a different payment method.
From your subscription:
Log in to Chatbooks.com.
Click "Home" at the top of the page, or click "Account" and then "My Books."
Click the subscription you want to update.
Click the Settings (gear icon) in the upper right corner.
Click "Payment."
Click "Add a new card" and follow the prompts.
Make sure the new payment method is selected, then click "Done."
