Cover colors out of order, or your color sequence looks off? You can change the cover for any month in the app.
How do I fix the cover color for one month?
You can do this in the Chatbooks app on iOS or Android. It isn't available on the website.
Tap into your subscription
Tap the month you want to change
Tap the cover to open the cover editor
Under Cover design, you'll see the number selected for that month
Tap a different number to choose a new cover
Tap Done

Why is my cover color sequence off?
If your covers don't match the order you expected, it's likely because of a change to how sequenced covers are assigned. Before August 13, 2026, the first cover in a set was assigned to the first month of your subscription, even if you started in October. Now covers follow the calendar instead. All unprinted books were automatically updated to the new order. You can change the cover for any month using the steps above.
What are sequenced covers?
Some cover sets come with a different shade or design for each month of the year. These are called sequenced covers, and they include:
Ombre colors
Stripes
Floral
Marble
Heirloom
Sequenced covers are available for Monthbooks and Baby's First Year books. Each set has 12 options, and one design is assigned to each month. For Ombre covers, the lightest shade is set as January and the darkest as December.
